Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often. Anything missing? Write to the atelier — we're glad to help.
Orders & shipping
Lead times, delivery, and tracking.
How long will my piece take to arrive?
Each piece is hand-finished at our London atelier. Bands and stacking pieces ship in 3–5 working days; solitaire and eternity pieces require 10–14 working days; bespoke commissions are quoted individually. Tracking is shared as soon as your order leaves the bench.
Do you ship outside the United Kingdom?
Yes. We ship to the EU, US, Canada, Australia, the Gulf, and select Asia-Pacific destinations. International orders are dispatched DDU (delivered duty unpaid); local duties and taxes are settled on receipt.
Is shipping insured?
Every NUR piece travels fully insured to its declared value, signed-for on delivery, in tamper-evident packaging.
Sizing & fit
Ring, bracelet, and necklace sizing — and how to get it right the first time.
What ring sizing standard do you use?
NUR is sized in UK letter sizes by default. Our Sizing & Care Guide includes a UK ↔ US converter and a measure-at-home method. If you prefer to use US, EU, or Japanese sizing, leave a note at checkout — we will match it.
Can I resize a ring after it ships?
Most plain bands can be resized by ±2 sizes once, complimentary, within the first year. Eternity pieces, signets, and stone-set bands have technical limits — please write to atelier@nurjewells.test for a personalised answer.
How do I choose a necklace length?
Use the Necklace Lengths section of our guide. 18in (45cm) is the NUR standard and sits at the collarbone; 16in is choker-length; 20in matinee sits at the upper chest.
Materials & quality
Stones, hallmarks, and provenance.
Are NUR diamonds certified?
Every centre stone over 0.30ct is GIA-certified and accompanied by its grading report. Pavé and accent stones are house-graded to a minimum of VS clarity, F–G colour.
What gold do you work in?
NUR pieces are made in solid 18ct recycled gold (yellow, white, or rose) and platinum 950 on request. Every band is hallmarked at the Goldsmiths' Company Assay Office, London.
Is your gold ethically sourced?
Yes. We work exclusively with refiners certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council and use 100% recycled gold for all production. Stones come with documented chain-of-custody where applicable.
Aftercare & returns
Looking after your piece, and our lifetime promise.
What is your returns policy?
Stock pieces can be returned within 30 days in unworn condition for a full refund. Bespoke and engraved orders are non-returnable. Full details on our Return Policy page.
Do you offer aftercare?
Every piece is covered by a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. We offer complimentary professional cleaning and rhodium re-plating once a year. Repairs from ordinary wear are at cost.
How should I clean my jewellery at home?
Warm water, a drop of mild soap, and a soft brush is all most pieces need. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners on emerald, opal, and bezel-set diamonds. Always remove jewellery before bathing, swimming, or applying perfume.
Bespoke & private appointments
Commissions, engraving, and atelier visits.
How does a bespoke commission work?
We begin with a private consultation — in person at our London atelier or over video. From sketch to wax to set stone the process typically runs 6–10 weeks. A returnable deposit secures your slot in the workshop diary.
Can I have a piece engraved?
Yes. We offer hand-engraving and machine engraving on most pieces. Hand-engraving adds 5–7 working days; machine engraving adds 2–3. There is no charge for short messages on engagement and wedding pieces.
Can I book an in-person appointment?
We see clients by appointment at our Hatton Garden atelier, Tuesday to Saturday. Use the contact page to request a time, or write to atelier@nurjewells.test.
